NOTHING/NOTHING Short Film / Video Concept Treatment http://mssvmusic.com Note: These are generic concepts and directors should take deep liberties with this treatment. Get creative! About Nothing/Nothing Nothing/Nothing is //'s debut, non-dance EP. It's about the loss of everything and emotional disconnection. The artist wrote the album in the fall of 2009 after suffering from a minor stroke and exiling himself from every known acquaintance. The album is fragile, brittle and understated, yet beautiful. -------------------------- Track 1 - Heroin INT. BEDROOM - NIGHT Two lovers are in bed, bathed in the blue of night. One is disconnected, detached from the other lover. He floats above the bed. As he does, she reaches for him, asking (in queue with the music) for one more chance. He floats from the bed, through the house and outside. She chases after him, EXT. HOUSE - NIGHT She continues after him, trying to catch him. She stuffs him into a car, he floats inside the top of it. -------------------------- Track 2 - Better Off INT. CAR - NIGHT It's raining. The city lights flicker through the water. They drive to a party. In the middle of it, the lead is alone, singing the lyrics form the song. She walks around the party, talking to everyone except for the lead. The lead follows at a distance, singing while pass through party goers. EXT. PARTY HOUSE - NIGHT The lead walks outside. The rain has stopped. The lead is under a panic attack. Lead looks up, grabs arm, falls down as everything fades to white. -------------------------- Track 3 - Helsinki The lead is in an all white room, a hospital. Eyes are wide open, death is in his eyes -- he wakes, his skin twitches, twists and burns. Everything is washed out. He looks through a photo album of all white, faceless images. -------------------------- Track 4 - Limited Response He's gotten out of the hospital, back to the party house. Now that it's over, the confetti, party hats, litter the house. It's a complete wreck. The lead begin picking up artifacts. Party-goers start entering, pushing the lead around. The lead is unaffected. This track is the positive twist for the ending of the film. We want to pull in all kinds of scenes of the experience -- shots of love, affections, the renting of it all - the pain an agony of relationships -- the fights, the yelling, the tears. In the end, the lead runs from all of the party-goers, who have been pushing him around. Runs through the city, through the woods, and into the ocean. The lead leaps into the ocean and when hitting, everything goes black.
